About Me
I have been using Ubuntu since the days of Karmic Koala (9.10). I am also a software engineer and web application developer. Most of my work is written in either C++ or Python.

I'm going to do my best to keep this chronological where possible.
One of the first Ask Ubuntu users (asker of the first question):
Served as moderator pro tempore on Ask Ubuntu for roughly 7 months.
Developed StackApplet, originally a Gnome panel applet for tracking reputation on Ask Ubuntu. The application was later rewritten to support AppIndicators and packaged in the archives.
Built four Juju charms (StatusNet, Lodge It!, StackMobile, and ThinkUp)
Created a WebP plugin for the Gimp, packaged it, and distributed it from a PPA
Participated in the first Ubuntu App Showdown by developing a cross-platform file transfer application named NitroShare
Redesigned and maintained the 2buntu blog, an open-source Django-based blogging platform providing tips, tutorials, and up-to-date news on everything Ubuntu.
Assisted with the creation of the Ubuntu theme for http://discourse.ubuntu.com/
Published an Ubuntu Touch application for sending WOL (wake-on-LAN) packets to networked devices named Wake It!

Nathan is an amazing guy. Whether he is writing awesome software (NitroShare, StackApplet), helping people in Ask Ubuntu chat, or posting on the main site, Nathan has done an outstanding job helping build Ask Ubuntu, its community, and by extension the greater Ubuntu community. Nathan is an excellent person, and a great developer. He has helped out quite often, helping people in Ask Ubuntu, and has contributed quite a bit, whether it's through creating excellent software like NitroShare or StackApplet, or contributing to the community to make Ubuntu better, he has definitely made a substantial impact and contribution on the Ubuntu community. As one of the Ask Ubuntu moderators, I have had the privilege of working with Nathan multiple times over the years, and he has repeatedly proven himself to be someone who is kind, helpful, and very knowledgable on a great many things.
