Ubuntu App Developer Showdown 2013
The Ubuntu App Developer Showdown is an open contest to develop new Ubuntu applications from startup to deployment in just six weeks. This year's contest will run from Wednesday 7th August 2013 until Sunday 15th September 2013. Contestants are allowed to develop or port applications using the new Ubuntu SDK. This page tracks the applications being developed for the Ubuntu App Developer Showdown.
The applications will be judged based on the following criteria.
General Interest - apps that are of more interest to general phone users will be scored higher. We recommend identifying what most phone users want to see, and identifying gaps that your app could fill.
Features - a wide range of useful and interesting features.
Quality - a high quality, stable, and bug-free application experience.
Design - your app should harness the Ubuntu Design Guidelines so it looks, feels, and operates like an Ubuntu app.
Awareness/Promotion - we will award extra points to those of you who blog, tweet, facebook, Google+, and otherwise share updates and information about your app as it progress. Many of our previous entrants in the Ubuntu App Showdown have provided daily or weekly progress reports, laden with screenshots and videos, raking in these extra points. We ask that you always post blog entries and videos to our Official Ubuntu App Showdown Sub-Reddit at http://reddit.com/r/ubuntuappshowdown
Applications in development
The tables below show the applications being developed, their source links and author info. 3rd Party developers can add their application to this list.
Note: The authors whose application code is unknown need to be contacted to host it in a public site for easy testing. This will help identify bugs, design issues earlier on. |
