Bryan Quigley: Did you know that the 20th most sold notebook on Amazon ships with Ubuntu?

Bryan Quigley points out that the Asus 1015E-DS03, a 10-inch notebook running Ubuntu 12.04, is the 20th most sold notebook at Amazon. The laptop is only $200, and comes with a full-size keyboard and a low-end Intel CPU. David Planella: Ubuntu Reminders app gets Evernote authentication

David Planella announces that the Evernote Online Accounts provider is now available for Ubuntu, which is a key component for the upcoming Reminders app. At this point the Evernote provider is for developers only, but it will be opened up for all users when Reminders puts out a stable release. Instructions for installing and using the provider are described in detail.

The new Ubuntu Resources

Inayaili de León Persson informs us that an alpha version of the Ubuntu Resources website has been launched so that feedback can be obtained, the design improved and features expanded. Inayaili lists some of the content and features that are being worked on, and invites feedback by saying "We want to know what you like and what you think can be improved, or any other comments you might have — we’ve included a handy link to the feedback form at the bottom of every page."

Juju ice-cream icon design

Matthieu-James tells us that the Canonical Design Team wanted to replace the normal Juju icons for something “a little bit more special” in order to explain to people what kind of things Juju can do." They decided to use the idea of ice-cream, topping and sauces in the same way that services can be built in Juju. Matthieu-James says that the whole process took four days from brief to producing the final icons and concludes "it was a really fun project to work on."

Ubuntu Linux server with ARM processor rolled out by Boston Limited

Agam Shah of PCWorld writes that Boston Limited has announced a new ARM-based server that is certified to run Ubuntu 13.10. When it ships it will be one of only a few commercially available servers using the ARM architecture. Pricing and availability have not been announced at this time.

Sputnik 3: After System76, Dell is the latest to launch Ubuntu based touchscreen Laptop

Manuel Jose of Tech Drive-in informs us that although System76 was the first to introduce an Ubuntu pre-loaded touchscreen laptop, this is the first time that Dell are showcasing a laptop running Linux equipped with a touchscreen display. Manuel provides a brief specification, pricing information and a list of countries in which the laptop will be available.

Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Won't Be Powered By Mir

Michael Larabel of Phoronix informs us that during the recent virtual Ubuntu Developer Summit it was learned that Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on the desktop won't be Mir-based, as it will still be shipping with the stable and proven Unity 7. Michael adds that point releases to Ubuntu 14.04 LTS will not be adding in Mir or Unity 8.

Experimental Ubuntu Touch Emulator Released

Andrew of WebUpd8 writes that the Ubuntu developers have released an experimental Ubuntu Touch emulator running Unity 8 and Mir. Andrew shows us some screenshots of the emulator and provides instructions to those running Trusty Tahr of how it can be installed.

Ubuntu reached 59% and position 1 at OpenStack survey about used OSes for deployments
