Yakkety Yak Alpha 2 Released
Simon Quigley announces the second alpha release of Yakkety Yak. Developers are encouraged to assist in testing and reporting bugs so that the release may move out of the alpha stage. Included in the article are links to download flavor variants of this alpha release.

Ubuntu 15.10 (Wily Werewolf) End of Life reached on July 28 2016
Adam Conrad announces that Ubuntu 15.10 reached the end of its nine month cycle on July 28th. This means that this release will no longer be supported and that no further package updates will be accepted. Adam also provides a link to a tutorial for upgrading to the most recent LTS Ubuntu release.

Canonical Design Team: New starter Raul (UX designer) – “I want to challenge myself to do the most difficult things”

The Document Foundation announces that Canonical has joined the TDF projects Advisory Board. Canonical has been an active member since the early days of the TDF, frequently sponsoring the LibreOffice Conference, and it is hoped Canonical will aid the presence of free software (including LibreOffice) inside enterprise and government organizations.

Ubuntu Touch OTA-12 released
Łukasz Zemczak announces the release of OTA-12 to the stable channel for Ubuntu Touch. He writes, “We have just copied all OTA-12 images to the stable channels and started the phased upgrade procedures as with every release. This should take less then a whole day and all users should see the update on their phones tomorrow at latest.”
