Ubuntu 21.10 (Impish Indri) reaches End of Life on July 14 2022

Łukasz 'sil2100' Zemczak provides us with notice that the nine months of supported life for Ubuntu 21.10 will end on 14 July 2022. We are reminded when it was released, and other details; Łukasz includes links so existing users of Ubuntu 21.10 can upgrade to Ubuntu 22.04 LTS before the end-of-life occurs.

Dan Simmons reminds us that Lubuntu 21.10 was released on 14 October 2021, and will thus reach its end-of-life on 14 July 2022. We are told what this means, and given a link to the manual for upgrade instructions, or a discourse post for more information.

Ubuntu 22.10 Has a New Default Text Editor

Joey Sneddon tells us the daily builds of Ubuntu 'kinetic kudu' now include the GNOME text editor instead of gedit. We are reminded of this new GTK4 text editor app, and what the advantages of it are when compared with the 23-year old gedit. If we're not using Ubuntu 'kinetic kudu' we are told how we can add the app to our Ubuntu 22.04 LTS systems for a look.
