Introduction

We’re preparing Kubuntu Vivid Vervet (15.04) for distribution on April 23rd, 2015. With this Alpha 2 pre-release, you can see what we are trying out in preparation for our next (stable) version. We have some interesting things happening, so read on for highlights and information.

Getting Kubuntu 15.04 Alpha 2

Upgrading from 14.10

Download a Disk Image

To upgrade to Kubuntu 15.04 pre-releases from 14.10, run kubuntu-devel-release-upgrade from a command line.
Full instructions to upgrade from 14.10.
Please note upgrade from Kubuntu Plasma5 14.10 is not supported and is unlikely to work, these users will need to reinstall.

Download a Bootable image and put it onto a DVD or USB Drive

Plasma 5, the next generation of KDE Software is still a work in progress, but is stable enough for everyday use and it keeps getting better as new versions drop frequently.
