For hard bugs the analysis phase is the most important, and most challenging part of bug work. Depending on how the bug is behaving, there are multiple directions to investigate the issue. Here's some different approaches:

  • Resolution issues

  • High CPU issues

  • Blank Screen on startup issues

  • Freeze issues

  • Single color (brown/blue/etc.) screen on startup

  • Fonts displayed way too big

  • xserver crash on resume

  • Only loads vesa instead of correct driver

  • fglrx interferes with radeon driver

  • Intel graphics performance issues

  • Keyboard and mouse quit working

  • Multimedia hotkey problems

  • Program received an X Window System error

  • Other common issues...
