Nvidia test case
There are outdated bits, don't block on them.
The point is that, once you fully install and booted. you should have 1) secureboot on 2) working nvidia drivers loaded.
nteodosio I have boot mode as UEFI and secure boot enabled, but I cannot reproduce step 7 of UEFI SecureBoot nVidia test case: Check 'Install third-party software...' A checkbox 'Configure Secure Boot' with 2 password fields are displayed {this doesn't happen for me} foundations we no longer show that, unless one needs any dkms that are not signed. foundations meaning, something like usb-wifi dkms only with a crappy realtek driver nteodosio Oh dear! So I can proceed the test? foundations in the past we used to always show it, because of nvidia; but we now have singned nvidia dkms modules; which "just work" without any need to enroll a mok kye. foundations correct. foundations imho the test case is out of date. foundations the point is that, once you fully install and booted. you should have 1) secureboot on 2) working nvidia drivers loaded foundations and if you were not asked for passwords to setup secureboot MOK key; it means you don't need them. nteodosio Great! Since we're here, the test doesn't mention a full disk install, so partition install is fine, correct? foundations any type of full install should work correctly. (i.e. dual boot, biggest free, wipe drive and use all, advanced) nteodosio I think that's what "Select any installation type and click on the continue button" means but I don't remember Ubiquity wording now nteodosio Alright, thanks foundations probably that wording is from the time when we had "in place upgrade option" which is long gone. nteodosio Is there a proper place to report the outdated bits?
Tests that can be done in a single run
Save time by performing those in a single go:
- [Run-once] Other Features (i.e. test if keyboard, wireless and timezone configuration during installation is kept after installing)
- [Mandatory] Install (manual partitioning re-using home partition)
- [Mandatory] Install (manual partitioning)
