Hi,

Until now I have relaunched the Romanian Ubuntu website and the localization team. Localization team has translated all important packages from a default Ubuntu instalation.

I am a member and coordinator of Ubuntu RomanianTeam and Ubuntu member .

Past activities

  • relaunching the Romanian Ubuntu website (http://www.ubuntu.ro) and local comunity setting a strong online presence.

  • Co-organized the first and only Software Freedom Day event in Romania in 2007
  • Organized the only Document Freedom Day event in Romania in 2008
  • Coordinated and helping people from Romania in organizing Ubuntu 8.04 Release parties in major cities from Romania.
  • Translation of the FSF Europe webpage

  • Organized the first outdoor FLOSS event, FLOSS Camp 2008. It was a meeting with all coordinators of Romanian major free software comunities - http://camp.softwareliber.ro/2008/

Current Projects

  • Coordinating the Romanian LocoTeam, including managing the website, forum, wiki.. etc http://www.ubuntu.ro/

  • Coordinating the Romanian Localization Team

  • Distributing Ubuntu Laptop stickers in Romania Smile :) (the one from system76)

  • Organizing Ubuntu Presentation in Cluj-Napoca and helping other people from Romania organizing local events

  • Founder and coordinator of "Grupul pentru Software Liber" (Romanian Free Software Group) http://www.softwareliber.ro

Future Projects

  • Helping people from major cities from Romanian in establishing local comunities and meeting groups for promoting Ubuntu
  • Committing upstream the Romanian translation changes from Launchpad. Working with Romanian GNOME, Firefox and Fedora teams for achieving a better collaboration.

At job

  • I work for at a local outsourcing company for developing a secure file transfer solution based on vsftpd, bftpd, curl, openssh and putty.
  • I have ported these software on all popular unix system but also on midrange and mainframe OS (os400, os390, nonstop)

  • In the launch break I send a lot of email while talking with other people involved in promoting free software Smile :)
