Create new Edubuntu Wallpaper for Natty

Rationale

Edubuntu's wallpaper has been used for 2 releases now, we need something fresh and new, that could possibly be used to inspire the rest of our branding.

Assumptions

Use Cases

• We intend to use this wallpaper for:
  • Edubuntu wallpaper
  • GDM Login screen
  • LDM Login screen

Design Considerations

• Edubuntu Desktop panels are light of colour, a slightly darker wallpaper will facilitate better contrast. (will add screenshot below to demonstrate current contrast problem)
• GDM will display a panel on the bottom and a login window in the middle of the display. It's undesirable to have objects around these areas that will be partly hidden or that will negatively impact on the aesthetics of the wallpaper if those areas are hidden.
• Ideally, we'd like to use it for LDM (LTSP Login Manager) as well. LDM doesn't have the ability to have different font colours in different areas of the display. All text can be black or white or any other colour. This means that the wallpaper should ideally not vary in colour too much from place to place, at least not where text is present. This is non-critical, since we can have another wallpaper for LDM, perhaps even based on the main wallpaper.
• Draft submissions will be accepted in "png" format.
• The desired format of final submission is "svg".

Constraints

• Wallpaper should not include logo, text or other details that are subject to aspect ratio distortions.

• Comments and suggestions for improvements may be posted to the Artwork Team list ( ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com ) for discussion and/or posted to the submission on Flickr. All comments should be constructive and adhere to the Ubuntu Code Of Conduct.

• The successful design will either be selected by polling the Artwork Team membership or by an impartial judge.
