About Me
Hello! I work for Canonical as a Quality Assurance Engineer. My areas of responsibility include managing the Ubuntu Bug Squad and Bug Control teams, keeping an eye out for high profile bugs and creating systems for triaging and reporting bugs more effictively. I also help out doing some Stable Release Update verification. I am probably one of the few subscribers to to the ubuntu-bugs mailing list. However, I don't think it is as unmanageable as it initially seems. But I haven't gone on vacation yet. I plan on adding some entries to my diary about it.
Contributions
substantial rewriting of Finding the Right Package to help new bug reports end up filed about the right package
BugSquad diary entry teaching people how to quickly mark duplicate bugs
added a section to Grub How To regarding removing quiet and usplash for troubleshooting which I use to help bug reporters

approved approximately 15 members to the Ubuntu QA team
regularly review and update Common Bug Responses
created and published multiple clue files for bughelper-data for use with BugHelper
touched a substantial number of bugs - 600 rejected, 129 fix released, 242 currently assigned to me, countless more confirmed, and as of May 29th #2 behind seb128 in bug management karma
implemented and standardized metabug tag for finding bugs with a high probability of duplication
created OpenOffice bug tags BugSquad Tags for segmentation of OpenOffice bugs
Future Goals
publish methods for working with the ubuntu-bugs mailing list
- find and share methods for increasing efficiency when triaging bugs
work on smarter bug reporting to allow bug reporters to submit higher quality bug reports and reduce amount of triaging necessary
