  • Ubuntu Hours an informal outreach, something to build community around

• Ubuntu Global Jam coming up 2-4 September 2011

  • Kwartzlab is hosting an event; txwikinger plans to build automated packaging tool

  • Bug fixes, bug triage, bug reporting, and Ubuntu Community Boosterism are all ways of contributing
  • People expressed interest in participating through IRC or other collaborative software

    • Kwartzlab will be paying attention to #ubuntu-ca on IRC and broadcasting on UStream

  • Jams tend to be mostly self-directed, although Kwartzlab will be working on a project
  • Other jams have focused on Unity testing, install testing

• SoOnCon 2011 is on 1 October 2011 at Bell Lightbox in Toronto

• Software Freedom Day is Saturday, 17 September 2011

  • Many Canadian locations are participating

• Toronto LinuxFest is part of FSOSS this year, 27-29 October 2011

  • Still looking for people to speak at LinuxFest!

  • There will be an unconference on the last day; breakout time for workshops and conferences
