I am Catalan LoCo Team Contact and I would like to introduce our team. I tried to start it in 2005 but with any success. Later, in December 2006, I left a message in the wiki explaining that the project was abandoned and immediately a lot of people seemed interested in the team, so we toke advantage on a mailing list kindly offered from a Catalan University and in only 15 days we were more than 100 members on that list. The Ubuntu Catalan LoCo Team is a very active, fast growing group of people that gathers the Catalan-speaking users community of Ubuntu in all its varieties. The scope of the Catalan LoCo Team is mainly the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catalan_countries Catalan Countries], that is, the [https://wiki.ubuntu.com/CatalanTeam/Grafisme?action=AttachFile&do=get&target=mini_FonsUbuntuPPCC.png territories where Catalan is traditionally spoken], where members and volunteers are scattered practically all over their geography. Its aim is to support and promote Ubuntu amongst the Catalan speaking community as it is the most important resource of information about Ubuntu in this language. We are a very heterogeneus and varied group of people focused on spreading the free software philosophy, specially Ubuntu, and have several projects in mind that will be carried out by our different workgroups in the near future.

Nowadays, we are 220 people on the mailing list, 47 on the Launchpad "ubuntu-cat" team. The owner of http://ubuntu.cat domain (Jordi Mallach) agreed to left using it by our community and our wiki pages look really good, with lots of information about our irc meetings and activities. We offer technical assistance through our mailing list, irc channel and courses in different places. We plan to do a courses program taking in account our teachers' availability. We are in contact with other LoCos for that matter. Our wiki page in English: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/CatalanTeam/En
