Subject: ESS1868 ISA card
Message-ID: <20050330104342+0100@https://www.ubuntulinux.org>

Is it possible to get this card to work with Warty. The sound does work with Fedora and SUSE, so can the drivers be transferred.

From Roland Alton-Scheidl Apr 30 2005

Creative Sound Blaster AudioPCI128 (Vendor Ensonic, Product 5880 AudioPCI) does play Ubuntus start-up sound, but not any Audio CD, tried with various players and mixers. Any hint is appreciated to roland at alton.at

From Kenny Kang May 27 2005

If you have trouble in Hoary & SoundMAX(Many laptops using this codec.), check this settings. Open Volume Control, Edit->Default Settings, Check External Amplifier. in swich(I have no idea in english menu name. i'm using localized version of gnome.(korean)) you have to uncheck External Amplifier checkbox. and check your sound again.
