Jordan Mantha

  • I am in my fourth year of graduate school at the University of Nevada, Reno. I am working on my PhD in Physical Chemistry. I have been an avid linux user since I started grad school. I started off with Red Hat 7.2 and then moved on to Gentoo for a couple of years, but got tired of the compiling and tweaking and I wasn't spending as much time using my computer. I tried to find a binary equivalent of Gentoo and tried Suse for a while (9.1 & 9.2) and then I found Ubuntu. It was love at first install.

  • ["UbuntuScientists"] - I try to add to/edit this resource for scientists.

  • ["MOTU/DocTodo"] - This is my attempt at keeping up with and cleaning the MOTU wiki. I am trying to make it more MOTU wannabe friendly while still useful for the MOTU.

  • ["MOTUScience"] - I am the leader of the MOTUScience team. We attempt to take care of science related packages in universe (I broadly define science as packages in math, science, and tex sections). One of my goals is to make sure the Ubuntu has the latest versions of software commonly used by scientists for both academic and research purposes.
