What are you doing in Debian ?

I am maintaining my packages.

I also help users in configuring and installing their systems (on IRC in #debian and #debian.de) and I help other packagers to improve their packages by sending them emails or (if they are no DD) by looking at their packages, so the DDs have less to complain about.

I also try to port packages from Ubuntu to Debian, to make Debian better and to reduce the differences between Debian and Ubuntu

To see a list of my packages, visit my [http://qa.debian.org/developer.php?login=jak@jak-linux.org Page at qa.debian.org]

What are you doing in Ubuntu ?

I take care of my packages synced/merged from Debian, look at the bug reports, etc. I also merge my packages from Debian if needed. This includes software like ndisgtk or dir2ogg

Are there other projects/organizations you participate in ?

I am participating in a lot of other projects. I

I also help people packaging my software for Distributions other than Debian and Ubuntu and notify them about new releases (if they want to be notified).

What do you think of Free Software ?

I am a fellow of the Free Software Foundation Europe and I am working in several free software projects.

Although I am a free software developer and a FSFE Fellow, I am still forced to use some non-free software, but I can live with this, as long it improves the number of peoples using free software. But If there is a working free alternative, I will use it.

What do you wish for the future, what will you be doing ?

There needs to be more collaboration between Debian and Ubuntu. Because we can learn from each other, we can help each other making the packages and the systems better.

I will work on my packages and help others in Debian and Ubuntu. Hopefully I become a Debian Developer and maybe also a Ubuntu Member and Masters of the Universe
