Notes

4) These messages showed up in dmesg like this: (change the ?? to the numbers given)

  • atkbd.c: Unknown key released (translated set 2, code 0x?? on isa0060/serio0)
  • atkbd.c: "Use 'setkeycodes e0?? <keycode>' to make it known.

5) This laptop does NOT have bluetooth capability from the factory, but it does have the button. You can buy the internal bluetooth module on eBay and install it internally.

6) When numlock is enabled, certain keyboard keys change to form a "numpad", with different keycodes. What's weird is that when numlock is on, the return key codes are prefixed with 0xe0.

System Information (Complete dmidecode available if you want):

  • Manufacturer: "Acer, inc."
  • Product Name: "Aspire 3000 g........."

Baseboard Information:

  • Baseboard Product Name: "Lugano M"
