Current Issues

  • Screen & Monitor issues:

    • Warning /!\ Very Very rarely. Image heavily disturbed (flickering) if framebuffer is enabled: kind of resolution is to switch to console CTRL-ALT-F1 and switch back to X ALT-F7 every time you have this issue. Another fix may be disable framebuffer: add vga=normal to boot options, but you will lose splash screen at boot. #24270

  • ACPI issues:

    • Sleep

      • (X) the system fails when restarting with this debug message: [numbers.numbers] Rebooting System. #29695

  • Wireless issues:

    • Warning /!\ ipw2200 doesn't retain the card status (radio on/radio off) after a reboot, but it does for hibernate/suspend #37010

  • Additional Hardware issues:

    • (X) SD/MMC Card reader not supported. there is a project which is trying to develop some driver. #36964

  • Function and other keys issues:

    • (X) MAJOR! (resolved) (X) Don't press Fn+F8 because it freezes the system at all #36885
      (./) This hangup can be bypassed disabling the local APIC support in the kernel. You can do this editing /boot/grub/menu.lst: append the string nolapic at the end of kopt= and kopt_2_6= lines. The file might look like this

      # kopt_2_6=root=/dev/hda7 ro nolapic
      Then launch 'sudo update-grub'

    • (X) Power4gear hotkey not correctly handled: its functionality is not to lock the screen but to switch between some predefined power profiles (powersave, dynamic, performance...) #35791

    • Warning /!\ Touchpad button not working: SHMConfig option is insecure and not enabled by default #37234
