Since a move my breezy to dapper, the sleep & hibernate mode are very stange... they're working with ac and crash with battery mode. I don't know if the problem come from my migration (breezy to dapper) or to the new kernel. When my computer crash during hibernate sequence, the cpu can't freeze..
Yes, if the system has already crashed for some reason, then you will be unable to hibernate/suspend without a reboot first. Please file a bug about the machine not hibernating properly: -PaulSladen
