Requirements

1. Availability: http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/k/kubuntu-firefox-installer; available for all supported architectures

2. Rationale:

   • Kubuntu can't/doesn't want to ship Firefox by default, yet it is a major brand and renders mostly better than Konqueror. It is believed that a user would look for Firefox (considering they know what it is) in the menu. In order to provide them a way to easily obtain Firefox the kubuntu-firefox-installer adds a menu entry and provides a very simple application to install Firefox.

3. Security:

   • No known CVE entries
   • No known Secunia history
   • No rooted binaries or daemons
   • No network activity whatsoever
   • Does not directly (not through a library) process binary (video, audio, etc) or structured (PDF, etc) data
   • No known source code reviews available

4. Quality assurance:

   • Should always work out of the box
   • No debconf questions asked
   • Not in Debian
   • Kubuntu == Upstream
   • Does not deal with hardware
   • No test suite

5. UI standards:

   • User-visible strings are internationalized using standard gettext system
   • Package builds a PO template during package build

6. Standards compliance:

   • FHS, Debian Policy compliance

   • Packaging system cdbs
   • Patches Qt stylesheet imported from Ubiquity (since there is no common implementation yet)

7. Dependencies:

   • ruby, libkorundum4-ruby1.8, libgettext-ruby1.8, install-package, kdesudo
   • libgettext-ruby - pending MIR

8. Maintenance:

   • Fully Maintained by the Kubuntu team

9. Background information:

   • The general purpose and context of the package is clear from the package's debian/control file

    • translatable and supports gettext
