1. Availability: The package is available in ubuntu universe and builds on our three major platforms

2. Rationale:

   • Highly popular desktop search tool shipping in SuSE and future Fedora. libbeagle can be integrated into our Gnome for improved search functionality, esp in Nautilus.

3. Security: No security issues reported. Indexing "daemon" runs as a normal user.

4. Quality assurance:

   • Very active upstream sponsored by Novell. Quick responses to bugs.

5. Standards compliance: FHS and Debian Policy met.

6. Dependencies: Depends are in main with the exception of gtk-sharp2 (already approved and should be re-seeded shortly), and gmime2.1.
