Main Inclusion Report for Guidance

  1. Availability:

    • Available in universe, all platforms
  2. Rationale:

    • guidance is a new set of configuration tools for KDE, they are better maintained than existing alternatives e.g. KUser MainInclusionKDEGuidance. Guidance has recently been put into KDE's SVN and will likely be released with future versions of KDE.

  3. Security:

    • No CVEs or other security issues.
    • These programs do need to be run as root
  4. Quality assurance:

    • No outstanding bugs
  5. Standards compliance:

    • The package meets the FHS and the Debian Policy.
    • Standard debhelper packaging with custom install rules to ensure policy compliance
    • Build-system is a custom script
  6. Dependencies:

    • libpythonize from pykdeextensions MainInclustionPyKDEExtensions, python-qt3/python-kde3/python-sip4-dev, all of which have been in main previously but moved out because they were unused
