Requirements

  1. Availability: In universe, and builds on all arches.

  2. Rationale: The package is a valuable addition to the desktop. It aids in automatic Network management, and is a large part of the NetworkMagic spec.

  3. Security:

    • No CANs
    • No Secunia reports
    • Daemon runs as root to change network and wireless configuration. Listens only via dbus

  4. Quality Assurance:

    • Supported by Red Hat.
    • nm-applet should be added to the default session
    • Bugs: no showstopper bugs

  5. Standards Compliance:

    • Standard debhelper package
    • Follows FHS

  6. Dependencies: dhcdbd, already reviewed by Martin Pitt.
