    • Kpackagekit is going to be the default package manager for Jaunty and next Kubuntu releases. Authentication process within Kpackagekit/Packagekit is using Policykit, and policykit-kde is the KDE frontend for it, thus, needed.

    • No binaries running as root or suid/sgid, as this is just a frontend for Policykit.
