    • Japanese input method is required by Japanese people. It's a critical issue for them because they can't input their native language without it.

    • No security histroy.
  4. Quality assurance:

    • scim-anthy is well maintained by Takuro Ashie who is employed in Good-Day (An open source company in Japan).
    • Fedora, SUSE and Mandriva shipped with scim-anthy as their default Japanese intput method. No critical bugs are found in them yet.
    • All complicated settings (set some environment variables and start the per-user daemon) will be done by im-switch.

    • The package meets debian-policy and FHS.
