Requirements

1. Availability: http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/s/squashfs, available for all supported architectures

2. Rationale:

   • Used to create our Live CDs

3. Security:

   • No CVE entries.

   • No Secunia history.

   • No binaries running as root or suid/sgid.
   • Does not open any port.
   • Source code review: not done

4. Quality assurance:

   • Package works out of the box without configuration.
   • Package does not ask any debconf questions higher than priority 'normal'.

   • No showstopper Debian bugs that affect us.

   • Good maintenance in Debian.

     • Debian maintainer responded quickly to our recent problem.

   • Active upstream.

     • Reponded quickly to, and was very helpful for, our recent problems.

   • No critical bugs in upstream bug tracker

   • Does not deal with exotic hardware which we cannot support.

5. Standards compliance:

   • Meets the FHS, Debian Policy

   • Meets Debian library packaging guide standards.

   • Standard debhelper/cdbs/dbs packaging, standard patch system.
