1. Availability: http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/u/userconfig/; available for all supported architectures

2. Rationale:

   • We want it on the Kubuntu CD to replace KUser, as it is integrated with the System Settings configuration tool and is easier to use.

3. Security:

   • CVE entries: none

   • Provides a KConfig Module which is run by root through the kcmshell4 wrapper by System Settings
   • Network activity: connects to a web page
   • Does not directly (not through a library) process binary (video, audio, etc) or structured (PDF, etc) data
   • No known source code review

4. Quality assurance:

   • No debconf questions
   • Not in Debian

   • Upstream is calm

   • No upstream bug tracker
   • Hardware: Does not deal with hardware
   • No test suite

5. UI standards:

   • Strings translated with gettext
   • End-user applications ships a desktop file, so that it shows up in System Settings

6. Standards compliance:

   • FHS, Debian Policy compliance

   • Packaging system is cdbs

7. Dependencies:

   • Qt, KDE, Qt/KDE python bindings, all in main

8. Maintenance:

   • Minimal maintenance needed
   • Kubuntu team will maintain this application

9. Background information:

   • The general purpose and context of the package is clear from the package's debian/control file. It is a KDE4 port of the userconfig utility that used to be shipped with the kde-guidance project before it was discontinued.
   • Upstream calls it userconfig
