Requirements

1. Availability: http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/libi/libiec61883, available for all supported architectures (currently still on NEW)

2. Rationale:

   • Build dependency of gst-plugins-good0.10 0.10.4
   • Needed since 0.10.4 for the dv1394 element if built against libraw1394 1.2.1

3. Security:

   • No CVE entries.

   • No Secunia history.

   • No binaries running as root or suid/sgid.
   • Does not open any port.
   • Source code review: potential integer/buffer overflow in deque, but the actually used deque seems to be size-limited; no other grave and obvious bugs found

4. Quality assurance:

   • Package works out of the box without configuration.
   • Package does not ask any debconf questions higher than priority 'normal'.

   • Not yet in Debian http://bugs.debian.org/330601

   • Active upstream.

   • No critical bugs in upstream bug tracker

   • Does not deal with exotic hardware which we cannot support.

5. Standards compliance:

   • Meets the FHS, Debian Policy

   • Meets Debian library packaging guide standards.

   • Standard debhelper packaging, standard patch system.
