For triaging a bug report, simply follow these steps:

Shine

  • 💬 It is written in English.

  • 👍 It seems it can be fixable.

  • 📄 It has enough information.

  • 🎯 The title is as specific as possible.

  • 🔳 The panel hasn't obvious errors for you.

Sort

Classify

  • 📜 It as a papercut if needed.

  • 💟 It as a kernel bug if needed

  • 💬 It as a translation bug if needed.

Publish

  • 🔓 Make it public if needed (carefully).

  • 🕑 Nominate for series if appropriate.

  • 📨 Report it upstream if needed.

  • 📤 Set its status to triaged if appropriate.

To triage is to make a listed bug ready to be fixed by a developer.
