This is (if all goes according to my vision), going to be a very loose interface of people (Barcamp style), getting together and talking to people about Ubuntu Linux in an attempt to spread cds all over the city.

Hi there. For the past 10 months (Oct. 26th 2007 as of writing), I have been using and promoting the use of Ubuntu. My main choice of distro is Kubuntu, but I have some experience with Xubuntu and Ubuntu as well. If you would like to see my (mostly) free software blog, you can find it on Wordpress. This blog is syndicated to the Chicago Gnu/Linux Users Group Page, and, to be relevant, the Ubuntu-Chicago Loco Planet.

Anyone who won't spam me has permission to contact me with any Ubuntu related questions.

So far I have:

Created the agenda for/attended the First Ubuntu-IL meeting.

Hung around on IRC and helped with various issues. My main area of focus has been #ubuntu-chicago, #kubuntu, and #ubuntu-offtopic. I can be found there most regularly on the nights before my papers are due, and I make a special effort to spend time in help channels when the newest releases are released.

I helped with the Ubuntu side of InstallFest at BarCampChicago.

I have also joined the mozilla-firefox team, Ubuntu-docs, Xubuntu testing.

More updates/Ubuntu related stuff as the work is done.
