package-kit for mapping from 'loose' Depends to actual packages -also depends: ${shlibs:Depends} in control file [mandatory anyway]

package management from a Ubuntu/Debian perspective versus from an R user perspective - having metapackages for groups of R packages, having .desktop files for those metapackages, and only putting those into app-install-data such that they are seen in Applications->Add/Remove

• - could fulfill the same role as CRAN Task packages in the Ubuntu space.
