Introduction
The screencast team has created some screencasts in English. Ubuntu community members have expressed a wish to translate these screencasts to other languages by submitting subtitles to the team. The subtitle files (.srt) are hosted on the screencast site which is only modifiable by one member of the screencast team. This situation needs to change, and the screencast team are looking at solutions.
In the meantime it seems sensible to move the translation to a more community medium (one that can be edited by any member of the community. So this page was created to help that need.
Community members are encouraged to take these .srt files and translate them, then re-attach the results to this page. When a better translation system (perhaps based on Rosetta in Launchpad) is in place we will move to that.
Translation Status table
The following table shows the translation status of the screencasts hosted at http://screencasts.ubuntu.com/
Current versions of .srt files are attached to this page. Changes will be taken periodically (manually) by the screencast team and placed on the screencast site. If there are any problems with changes that have been made, please let the screencast team know via the mailing list:- https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-screencasts
Of course if anyone would like to reformat this page to make it more readable or understandable that would be appreciated.
Adding languages to the list below is encouraged. There is no significance to the order the languages are listed other than it is the order in which they were added.
