I am figuring on maintaining and supporting the GEIS API over the next several cycles as it matures and the behind-the-scenes technology progresses. I see improved dicumentation and support for developers interested in using the API to provide gestures in their applications as well as pushing the use of the API upstream into toolkits and frameworks for a consistent feel across all applications on Ubuntu. | I am figuring on maintaining and supporting the GEIS API over the next several cycles as it matures and the behind-the-scenes technology progresses. About Me
I have been developing on Unix systems since the early 1980s, and on Linux specifically since 1995. I started with and used Slackware until 2003, when I was hired by Xandros (another Linux distribution) to develop security, automated package deployment, and server software, followed by ARM development work on embedded Linux systems.

Contributions
I am employed by Canonical to work on the uTouch multi-touch and gesture stack, a part of the desktop experience team. I designed and implemented the GEIS API.
In a previous life I contributed major portions of the unit test suite for the C++ standard library that ships with GCC (libstdc++-v3) as well as significant portions of the TR1 random number library and the regular expression library portions of libstdc++v3.
Future Goals
I am figuring on maintaining and supporting the GEIS API over the next several cycles as it matures and the behind-the-scenes technology progresses. I see improved documentation and support for developers interested in using the API to provide gestures in their applications as well as pushing the use of the API upstream into toolkits and frameworks for a consistent feel across all applications on Ubuntu.
I also intend to branch out more and into other software areas, particularly games.
