What is this all about?

Why only 2 ISO images with 3 tests each?
- In the final rounds of testing it is vital that the scheduled tests are guaranteed to get done. By focusing our efforts on two ISO images we can be sure that these will get good coverage. This in turn means less devel team time needs to be consumed by it. If we see good coverage and good testing on these 2 ISOs during beta, we may expand the scope for RC and Final.
What does 'Primary' and 'Secondary' mean?
- Each tester should have a single test case as their primary focus. make sure they make an effort to test it thuroughly and in a reasonably short timeframe. A range of other test cases can of course be performed afterwards if there is time. This is another way of ensuring we get reliable coverage on certain tests
Why is Edubuntu not listed?
- The short answer is: see question one, we need to focus our effort for a reliable result. In earlier forum testing more people volunteered for Ubuntu and Kubuntu. Xubuntu is tested by a separate team, and we may see that for Edubuntu as well.
Why only i386?
- Again, question #1. Most people who signed up for testing in the forums reported having i386, some amd64 and very little PPC. Those with amd64v hardware can also test i386, so we will focus on that first to get a critical mass. We can extend it to other architectures later. (btw, if you have sparc hardware, please get in touch)
Where do I report <type of bug>
"No kernel modules were found" in the alternate installer -- This is just a case of the kernel version in the installer seed being out of sync with that in the version of d-i on the CD, or that the kernel version in the installer seed is no longer in the archive. No point in filing a bug about this. It should go away when the next CD is built.
The Live CD installer crashes -- Can be a wide range of issues, but bugs can be filed agaist [https://bugs.beta.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bugs ubiquity] and will be triaged from there.
The CD does not boot -- Try booting with F6 and remove the --quiet and --usplash flags. This will show where in the boot process it fails. It will often be a kernel problem.
