Notes There is still problem with bootable disk on this laptop. Unlike with previous releases of Ubuntu, with 11.04 this PC boots, but when you choose "try without install" you get only blank screen. People on Ubuntu forum claim that you you have to pass "acpi=off" into kernel after pressing Shift at boot time. They way I did it is booted with Linux Mint 11 disk and un-TAR'ed file system from other laptop. As this is cheap laptop there are some limitation with it: * no possibility to change hard drive or RAM without opening whole laptop * no HDMI * single core CPU * low resolution web cam To get full 3D support you have to use ATI proprietary drivers through "additional drivers" As listed in report laptop doesn't suspend or hibernate. When you try to suspend or hibernate, laptop doesn't crash but after few minutes it only locks screen. It is disappointing that not everything works on this machine, because as I can read on Internet this model was also shipped with Ubuntu. I have raised bug report at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/846749 Webcam, wifi and some of FN keys work fine.
You have get used to using any F1-F12 keys, as you have to use it with Fn key. Without it they work as function keys for brightness, volume, battery information, wifi switch, external monitor switch, multimedia control. It is especially annoying when you try to use well known shortcut "Alt-F4" to close application. On this laptop you have to press "Alt-Fn-F4" to do so.
