Bootchart allows you to audit the boot sequence and generate a graphical chart showing how long each process ran during boot, and how much CPU and I/O time they used. In order to help ensure that the startup time for Ubuntu Netbook Remix improves throughout the prerelease images (or at least doesn't get worse!) we would like to encourage everyone willing to test on prerelease UNR images to install bootchart and upload their results to this page. This data will especially be helpful if you can test it through multiple prerelease images.
Installing Bootchart
Install the bootchart package, either through apt-get or Synaptic
- Reboot your machine
What to do with your bootchart
- The bootchart is in /var/log/bootchart as a .png file

- Create a new row in the appropriate table below
