Xubuntu: Laptop users, Fix available for the black screen on unlock bug

The Xubuntu team announces a fix for the “black screen on unlock” bug that has been known about since before the 14.04 release, noting that the fix landed in the 14.04.1 and 14.10 Beta 1 releases.

Daniel Pocock: Welcoming libphonenumber to Debian and Ubuntu

Daniel Pocock announces that libphonenumber, a “universal library for parsing, validating, identifying and formatting phone numbers” is now available as a package in Debian and Ubuntu. The package “provides support for C++ and Java users” and shares details about a few applications where it is already being used.
