Dimitri John Ledkov: Intel CPU microcode support in ubuntu-drivers-common
Dmitri John Ledkov highlights one of the features, Intel CPU microcode support, of ubuntu-drivers-common which he has helped to land in Ubuntu 15.04. He explains that it is a framework to detect hardware-dependent components on a user's machine and then offer to install additional packages for better support of that hardware.

Carla Sella writes that she has created her first Ubuntu Phone web app for the Ubuntu Italian Community's web-site. Ubuntu at WHD.global 2015
Tom Callway writes that the next big European cloud event – WHD.global 2015 – is to be held at Europa Park in Rust, Germany, and that 6,000 vendors, service providers and software developers are expected to attend. He says that members of the Ubuntu team will be present to talk about Juju, OpenStack and BootStack, the managed cloud service.

Why Drones needs Snappy Apps?
Maarten Ectors says that Erle-Robotics showed how Snappy Ubuntu Core can power the autopilot in their drone but that experts in building drone hardware may not be experts in writing autopilot software. He suggests to be part of the "droneconomy", Ubuntu Snappy Core should be used.

The New Ubuntu 15.04 Default Wallpaper Is Here
Joey-Elijah Sneddon of OMG! Ubuntu! writes that Ubuntu 15.04 will ship with a brand new default wallpaper based around the Ubuntu Phone “Suru” design concepts, first introduced in Ubuntu 14.04. He says that although the new wallpaper is not a massive switch in design the new version gives a refreshed look. Joey then shows us the new and existing wallpapers as a comparison.

Ubuntu MATE 15.04 Will Ship With Nifty Tilda Terminal App
Joey-Elijah Sneddon of OMG! Ubuntu! writes that the Ubuntu MATE team have been busy detailing some of the handy new features shipping in Ubuntu MATE 15.04 including Tilda, a 'dropdown' terminal application similar to guake. Joey embeds a short video, made by Martin Wimpress, in his post to demonstrate Tilda which is activated by a press of the F12 key.

"Why Linux Is Still Not Ready For The Desktop"
Michael Larabel of Phoronix writes that although there are 1000+ Steam games on Linux and desktop environments are improving not everyone feels the Linux desktop is ready. He quotes from and links to an article by Nick Farrell of Fudzilla who says that he tries out Linux every three years, has just tried out Ubuntu but still feels that Linux is not ready for the masses.
