Carly Page from The Inquirer provides an in-depth review of the Meizu Pro 5 Ubuntu Edition. She starts off by reviewing the design which “feels like a premium device in the hand and, if it's priced below £400, could be one of the most expensive-looking smartphones in its league.” She then summarizes the display, software, performance, and camera which “proved decent during our brief time with it, and managed to capture images full of detail and natural colour even under the harsh lighting of Canonical's stand.” She concludes by sharing her positive thoughts on how it will do in the market.
Has open source hell frozen over?
Bryan Lunduke gives his views on Ubuntu’s convergence. “First, the “convergence” vision actually appears to be reaching a point where it is usable [...] this is a big freaking deal.” He expresses his amazement for some of the minor Ubuntu Touch gems, including, “The phone, when docked to a monitor, even becomes an input device; You can use it as a touchpad mouse and a virtual keyboard.”
