Yakkety Yak Beta 1 Released
Set Hallstrom and Simon Quigley, on behalf of the Ubuntu Release Team, announce the availability of Yakkety Yak Beta 1 for Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Ubuntu GNOME, Ubuntu Kylin, Ubuntu MATE, Ubuntu Studio. They note: “Pre-releases of the Yakkety Yak are *not* encouraged for anyone needing a stable system or anyone who is not comfortable running into occasional, even frequent breakage.”

Jonathan Riddell: Plasma release schedule updated
Jonathan Riddell announces a change to the Plasma 5.8 release schedule following a request was made from openSUSE (whom are also supporters, contributors and patrons of KDE). The Plasma team agreed to move date forward, so it's now first Tuesday in October.

Canonical Releases Massive Mir 0.24.0 Display Server Update for Ubuntu Linux OS
