Aaron Honeycutt: Kubuntu Artful Cycle work - Part 1

Aaron Honeycutt from the Kubuntu Council writes about his attempts to improve art and design in Kubuntu. First he writes about the wallpaper contest, with a reminder that the competition closes June 8. Timo Aaltonen: Mesa 17.1.0 for Ubuntu 16.04 & 17.04

Timo Aaltonen announces that the latest Mesa release for Ubuntu Xenial and Zesty is available in the X-Updates PPA. Timo also asks that if you use Mesa 17.0.6 from zesty-proposed, feedback would be appreciated on the SRU bug report.

Ken VanDine: Ubuntu Desktop - Call for feedback

Ken VanDine writes that with Ubuntu Desktop switching from Unity to Gnome, user feedback is desired. Ken points to a OMG! Ubuntu article and a user survey on GNOME extensions and defaults.

Martin Pitt: Cockpit is now in Ubuntu backports

Martin Pitt informs us that after landing Cockpit in Ubuntu 17.04 and Debian Unstable, it's now approved and ready for Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and 16.10 through Ubuntu backports. The installation instructions are provided, with a request to report any problems.

Nish Aravamudan: usd has been renamed to git-ubuntu

Nish Aravamudan announces that the old usd tool (Ubuntu Server Dev) used by the Ubuntu Server Team has been reworked and is now known as git-ubuntu. Available as a Snap package, instructions are provided. He notes that this is a work in progress, and provides a link to the Git repository.
