Focal Fossa (to be 20.04 LTS) Feature Freeze

Steve Langasek confirms Focal Fossa has entered feature freeze. As such, from this point the focus is on bug fixes, any additional features will require an exception. Steve points out that care is the concern for the content of the archive.

Xubuntu 20.04 community wallpaper contest

We are invited to submit wallpapers for the Xubuntu 20.04 community wallpaper competition, with terms and guidelines provided by links. Submission deadline is March 13, 2020 with six entries being included in the Xubuntu 20.04 ISO. Plus, they will be available via package for users of other xubuntu versions.

Ubuntu Touch Mobile OS Drops “8” From Its Desktop Environment Unity8

Sarvottam Kumar writes that UBPorts, the company behind the Ubuntu Touch project, has announced the renaming of Unity 8; the name has changed to Lorimi. Developers will need to update to a new API before packaging apps, with many links for additional details provided.
