Groovy Gorilla (20.10) Beta Freeze
Lukasz Zemczak advises that along with Thursday's beta freeze, "The queue freeze will last from now until final release in October". Procedure is given for seeding packages into the archive with a short note on the action of the archive bot. The encouragement for testing favourite flavour(s) is out and bug hunting is open.

Touchégg 2.0.0 Released: A Linux Multi-Touch Gesture Recognizer App
Sarvottam Kumar writes that Touchégg will give a normal touchpad a 'mac-like' experience. A brief introduction into Touchégg or what a multitouch gesture recognizer is given, before we are told this a total re-write that allows it to work on the latest GNOME, KDE & other desktops. Dell readies a Tiger Lake refresh on XPS 13 Ubuntu Linux Developer Edition
Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols espouses the growing marketing of linux; then remarks on ubuntu support on both Lenovo and Dell. The focus then is on Dell's release of a new XPS 13 Developer Edition, preloaded with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and featuring the high end 11th Gen Intel Core Lake processor. Steven goes on to give other specs of this impressive machine. He ends with the advice that Dell will support even if the original was a Windows install.
Mir 2.1 Released With Some New Protocol Support, Many Fixes
Michael Larabel informs us of the release of Mir 2.1 which offers a set of libraries "for constructing Wayland shells particularly with Snap confinement". A brief mention of a couple of new features is given, with link to the GitHub repository.

NVIDIA Vulkan Beta Driver Moves To 455 Series For Linux
Michael Larabel reports on the improvements, fixes, and added support in Nvidia's release of the Linux Vulkan beta driver 455. Of note is that there is now support for RTX 30 "Ampere", and "also now allows importing external host memory as cached". More details are available on the developer.nvidia.com link.
