Proposal: Improving the membership application process

Thomas Ward (teward), on behalf of the Ubuntu Community Council, apprises us of the final Community Council vote and resolution to simplify the application process for Ubuntu membership. The long standing discussion culminates with this resolution that applies to non-technical applicants.

Community Game Suggestions!

Monica Ayhens-Madon tells us the Community Team will be in a sprint the week of 19 July, so the plan for Office Hours is to play some games. Suggestions for suitable multiplayer games that run on Linux (Steam, Wine or browser) for this and possibly future community events are welcome.

Anbox Cloud 1.10.3 has been released

Simon Fels writes that the Anbox Cloud team is pleased to announce the release of Anbox Cloud 1.10.3. A link to the component versions is provided, as well as a list of features/improvements, and bug-fixes, plus a link to the general upgrade guide.

Steam Client Update Brings Numerous Linux Fixes, More Controller Additions

Michael Larabel alerts us to the "newest stable update to the Steam client". Michael briefly walks us through some of the Linux updates, new controllers that will work, and provides a link to the Steam Community should more info be wanted.

Ubuntu Touch OTA-18 Released - Still Using Ubuntu 16.04, 20.04 Migration Ongoing

Michael Larabel tells us that UBports have released Ubuntu Touch OTA-18, which is still using the Ubuntu 16.04 LTS base. UBports continues with their work on the Unity-derived Lomiri environment on the Ubuntu 20.04 LTS base; alas it wasn't ready for OTA-18. We are told of a number of improvements found in this release, and given a list of some of the devices supported.
