KDE Frameworks 5.92 Improves Dolphin and KRunner, Plugs Memory Leaks, and Fixes Bugs

Marius Nestor writes that the KDE Project announced the release of KDE Frameworks 5.92, and tells us how this improves the Dolphin file manager. We are also told of enhancements we'll find in KRunner, Spectacle and more. Also provided are some screenshots so we can see how these will look. Finally we are told of memory leaks that have been fixed.

Your First Look at Ubuntu 22.04’s Default Wallpaper

Joey Sneddon shows us what the new Ubuntu 22.04 default background image looks like, reminding us of the tradition of these wallpapers. Next Joey tells us what he sees in this wallpaper, contrasted with that tradition. We are also shown the three extra backgrounds that won the Ubuntu 22.04 Wallpaper contest.

These AI-Made Ubuntu Mascot Artworks are Incredible

Joey Sneddon writes about Simon Butcher's Ubuntu mascot artwork which was created by "feeding a list of Ubuntu codenames to an AI CLIP guided diffusion model". Giving us an embedded youtube video so we can watch the result that Joey describes as "phenomenal". We are told a little about the resources required to create it. Finally we're told of Martin Wimpress, Ubuntu MATE's lead, being so impressed by the AI-produced Jammy Jellyfish artwork that one will be included in the Ubuntu MATE 22.04 LTS release. Ubuntu 22.04 Lets You Pick A Custom Accent Colour

Joey Sneddon writes that Ubuntu 22.04 LTS will include UI accent colours we can choose in the Appearance settings panel. We are told users can choose one of ten shades currently taken from the Yaru palette, and told it colors more than just the Yaru GTK theme, impacting icons and is "respected within the Yaru GNOME Shell theme". We are also told of other UI changes, and provided pictures to help us better appreciate them.
