Symptom classification
error-exit - X exits with error code and error message
no-screens - X exits because no usable screen configuration could be determined
crash - X process terminates with backtrace / SIGSEGV
freeze - Can ssh into the machine, mouse cursor moves, but is otherwise hung / locked up / stuck in a loop
corruption - Screen shows garbage or mis-rendered graphics
tearing - a phenomenon in video where a newly rendered frame overlaps a previously rendered frame, creating a torn look as two parts of an object.
kernel-graphics-resolution or userspace-resolution (Was resolution) - X starts with an incorrectly selected resolution, does not provide access to full range of expected resolutions, or fails in switching to alternate resolution
performance - game fps is low, or perceived graphics display speed is below expectations
flicker - X blinks or flickers continuously or temporarily after startup, resume, etc.
dual-head - problem setting up external monitor, mirrored or extended
backlight - on laptop, screen's illumination does not work properly
videoplayback - problem associated with playing video, such as using Xv
ghost-monitor - the video driver seems to be configuring around a non-existent output device
edid - problem associated with EDID interpretation, often resulting in incorrect resolution detection
3d - issue relating to 3D behavior
compiz - problem involving compiz functionality
resume - issue that occurs following a resume from suspend or hibernation
cropped - screen is only partially displayed
font-size - fonts are way too big or way too small, usually because of incorrect EDID
kernel-graphics-blankscreen - screen goes completely black/blank on boot, or after suspend/resume, or during regular usage (Was black-screen)
vt-switch - problem occurs during or after switching virtual terminals (ctrl-alt-f#)
tv-out - issue associated with the TV/HDMI/S-Video output
high-cpu - problem is associated with higher than expected CPU usage
pointer - problem relates to the display or behavior of the mouse pointer
error-message - a confusing or endlessly repeating error message
touch - issue with touch support in applications or X
user-switching - problem is associated to or triggered by user-switching

-intel driver
Short names of the intel chipsets. Usually simplifed versions of the chipset variable in src/intel_module.c of the intel driver. This is printed in Xorg.0.log. Chipset PCI-ID is also printed in Xorg.0.log and there is a list in src/intel_driver.h. Wikipedia has a nice table that shows how each graphics core (GPU) relates to its chipset.
