Who I am

My name is Agathe Porte, and I have been a member of the Ubuntu Kernel Team since July 2023.

I studied in France where I got an Engineering Degree specialized on embedded/real-time systems.

My Ubuntu story

I started using Ubuntu to replace Windows Vista on my first computer. I wanted to do a dual boot but erased the whole Windows installation and used Ubuntu since on the laptop.

I then switched to Archlinux eager to learn how the operating system works under the hood. Then moved back to Debian to get more stability. That's where I started to contribute to the distribution during COVID. I became Debian Maintainer and then Debian Developer at this time.

Nowadays I still use Debian and Ubuntu depending on the machine and how well it is supported by upstream kernels.

My involvement

Since I started, apart from cranking kernels, I worked a lot on improving internal documentation for the Kernel Team. I also contribute to tools in kteam-tools.
