Forums

Initially I was hanging around in forums like the german Ubuntu-Forum and ubuntuusers.de.

I am an active member in the ubuntuforums, being registered as "km0r3". You usually find me helping other folks in need in the Development & Programming sub-forum.

Local Help

I am donating CDs and advocating Ubuntu here in Paraguay to children and adults at schools and universities. Paraguay is an OLPC deployment country, and luckily my city of residence, Caacupé, is the actual main deployment area of the latest builds. I usually hang around on #olpc-paraguay, contributing code and time to the project.

I attend local hackfests and meetings about Free Software and Open Source like the yearly FLISOL.

Ubuntu - First Steps

I have made the transition from Windows (XP) to Ubuntu (8.04) in the mids of 2008, and I'm glad that I have never looked back since. Saying so, Ubuntu 8.04 was also sort of my first experience with GNU/Linux at all. I have rapidly auto-developed survival knowledge in the command-line, found the ultimate programmer's tool, Vim, and started hacking with Python.
