About Me

I'm Nathan, im 25 years of age, currently Living in North Carolina, USA. Im extremely interested in privacy, anonymity, and pseudonym. I strongly believe in Free Speech, and stand to protect it. Im a huge Nerd, i like to tinker with hardware and software, and I find serenity in using the Terminal. I like debate, im opinionated ...

I started using Linux in 2004 on PClinux, then Debian and puppy Linux for a while. Like many users, I was introduce to linux by users on online forums. After a full computer crash on Windows, a friend of mine re-introduced the idea of linux. The fact that linux was free gave me the confidence to try it out, I had nothing to loose. After around 6 months of using Linux i made the full switch in around 2005. I'm interested in expanding the Linux user-base and building my professional computing ability's for future endeavours.

IRC

Usually you'll find me somewhere in these channels:

OFTC

  • #ubuntu
  • #debian-ubuntu

Freenode

  • #ubuntu
  • #ubuntu-devel
  • #ubuntu-bugs
  • #Linux

and I'm usually idling/parked in other random channels.

Team Memberships

Ubuntu Involvement

I have been spreading the word of Ubuntu to friends and family for the past two years and hope to expand on this. I have been beta testing for the majority of this time I want to expand my involvement in the Linux/FLOSS/Ubuntu community's and build personal and professional relationships.

Misc:

  • Im diving into Ruby, what a fun language
  • I like the ideas behind dogfooding http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eating_your_own_dog_food but understand when other services and solutions are better and may be able to shine some light on possible improvements at home.

  • Assisting users in IRC on various channels
  • Knowledgeable with Wordpress, drupal, phpbb, joomla, and various other CMS's.
  • I like politics

Future:

My roadmap for the near future includes:

  • Get into iso testing
  • Joining the bug squad, i want a mentor, and i want to expand my programming ability's by obtaining some help w ith learning Python.

Availability

My availability changes often, but currently im generally available after 11 pm EST.

These are links for myself, and for you if your interested.
