Tiered service levels is how I describe my view of computing. I do not currently have a working desktop so operations are split among my smartphone, the SheevaPlug, and my netbook. The netbook is not a desktop replacement by any stretch. When utilized in concert with other devices, I can get by without a desktop. I have currently bricked a [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SheevaPlug|SheevaPlug]] and am hurriedly attempting to repurpose my [[http://www.digikey.com/product-highlights/us/en/texas-instruments-beagleboard/685|BeagleBoard-xM]] to bridge the gap. My desktop provides experience in other Linux traditions to help broaden my horizons. My netbook from System76 runs Xubuntu 12.04.1 and travels with me frequently.

About Me

I am the Head Writer at Erie Looking Productions and present The Burning Circle, the podcast of the Ohio LoCo Team. The podcast now has over sixty episodes and has been active for over a calendar year. Outside the Ubuntu realm I have presented since December 2007 LISTen: An LISNews.org Podcast which deals with more general issues in the realm of library and information science.

I have currently bricked a SheevaPlug and am hurriedly attempting to repurpose my BeagleBoard-xM to bridge the gap. Thanks to the SSH client I found for my my old-timey Nokia smartphone, I still have remote access to a number of things including machines in-house. The desktop is a hand-me-down that has outright crashed booting the LTS live CD but yet somehow booted the installers for VectorLinux Light 7.0 and Mageia 2 successfully. My desktop provides experience in other Linux traditions to help broaden my horizons. My netbook from System76 runs Xubuntu 12.04.1 and travels with me frequently.

I have been an Ubuntu Member since March 15, 2012.
